White Mountains to Portland

We awoke in Woodsville to the sound of torrential rain (again). After breakfast it stopped - the clouds were still hovering 10 feet over us - but it wasn't raining :)

We headed over the White Mountains, our first real taste of some twisty roads.

Arriving in Portland by 4pm we checked out the route to the port and checked in for the following days sailing. JJ's been harping on about lobster rolls from the moment we met in Heathrow, so we headed to the nearest lobster shack to sate his hunger for that particular crustacean. Pretty good. A local hostelry provided a good selection of local brews - and promising that we'd have an early night (0600 start for the ferry) it all went horribly wrong. Again.
