We left Glenora distillery earlier than expected. It is in a beautiful setting, well laid out, very well organised, has friendly staff and great food. But Glenfarclas et al don't have anything to worry about..... Sorry. But we had a great time.

We headed north to the Cabot Trail with great expectations. And it did not disappoint :) The sky was blue, the road dry and twisty. Well mostly. They were resurfacing about 4 miles, which they had, in all wisdom, covered in about 4 inches of gravel. It was.......interesting. But the rest of the run was fantastic.

We had previously decided to stay at Pleasant Bay (in the North West of the island) mainly in anticipation of not being able to travel far with a hangover - which never materialised. So we arrived earlier than anticipated.

JJ wanted to prove why he's a technophobe and stayed at the BnB (an excellent place called the Scottish Hillside BnB - but don't let the name put you off!) while me and G headed to do some whale watching. There was a significant debate as to what size of boat was required - I was opting for the QE II while G wanted to go in a blow-up rubber boat. We opted for the smallest, which actually turned out to probably be the best choice....

  2. They are soo cute! I wanted to take one home (we don't use bath anyway) but Slo said that I would have to leave all the shoes that I have in my pannier to make a space for it. So the shoes won.
The whales are very graceful - as for food I do prefer lobsters :))
